This workshop provides insights into qualitative research methods and the opportunity to discuss and obtain feedback on qualitative research projects/working papers. We welcome particularly junior researchers and those currently working on or planning qualitative research. Experienced researchers and journal editors will share some insights and recommendations on qualitative research methods using some of their recent publications in Journal of International Business Studies, the top journal in international business, as examples. In addition, participants are invited to discuss their current or planned qualitative research in smaller roundtables.

Bios of speakers:
Fabian Jintae FROESE is Chair Professor of Human Resource Management and Asian Business at the University of Goettingen, Germany, and Joint Appointment Professor of International Business at Yonsei University, South Korea. In addition, he is senior editor of International Business Review and associate editor of International Journal of Human Resource Management. His areas of expertise are in the area of future of work, including expatriation, virtual work, AI, and diversity. His research has been published in leading journals such as Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of International Business Studies, and Journal of Management Studies.
Hae-Jung HONG is Assistant Professor at NEOMA Business School, France. She received her PhD from ESSEC Business School and was a visiting research fellow at INSEAD. Dr. Hong’s research focuses on multicultural individuals: their contributions to firms’ innovation, organizational enabling factors for competitive advantages, and identity work. Her work has been published in Journal of International Business Studies, Harvard Business Review, and International Journal of Cross-Cultural Management. In addition, her works have been published in Forbes and South China Morning Post.
Markus PUDELKO is Professor of International Business at Tübingen University, Germany, and Senior Editor of Journal of World Business. His research focuses on the role of language in business, cross-cultural, comparative, and international human resource management. The vast majority of his research uses interview-based research methods. His research has been published in leading journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Learning and Education, Human Resource Management, and Journal of International Business Studies.
